As a wife and a mother I am primarily responsible for the cooking in the household. Not a big deal, right? Sometimes I even enjoy it...sometimes. But there is one thing that really irks me. That is when I spend at least an hour in prepping and preparing the meal just so my family can come to the dinner table and consume it in 15 minutes! It just doesn't seem fair that something that takes SOOOOOO long to fix could be consumed in such a short time. By the way, I am also irked by the fact that it takes me 15 to 30 minutes to clean up AFTER the meal. What is the deal, it is a conspiracy, it really is.

I know all of you are coming to my site to save money using coupons and buying items that are on sale. Well what about a way to make a little bit of extra money? What about doing surveys? I have been doing surveys at home for around 2 to 3 years. No, I have not gotten rich, but I do like the little bit extra that it brings in. Therefore, I thought I would share some that I have done really well with. If you are interested in signing up then just click the link and give it a try.

HCD Surveys - this is a really good one. First of all for you newbies to the survey world you sign up here, then you will get emails requesting that you take a survey. The email will explain an approximate length for the survey PLUS what you can expect in the form of compensation if you complete the survey. This company gives you points. When you get to 1000 points (generally get at least 50 to 100 for short surveys, more if they are longer) you can ask for a check to be mailed to you for $10.00. Every point translates into one cent. With this company I have done many surveys on political issues as well as American Idol surveys and surveys for commercials on the Super Bowl. Keep in mind that if you sign up and they send a survey to do but you don't have time to do it that is okay. They don't kick you off the list. Comment or email if you have any questions.

Christmas idea: If you are making the movie baskets but don't want to spend to much on a wicker basket then try a wash tub. You can pick up a small container at Walmart for $1.97 in red, white, or black. This is something that can be reused over and over and over again. Use to put soapy water in and clean your car, use it to hold toys, it is a perfect container. Thanks to Kim's mother for this find.

One thing that I want to add about the sale items from the other day is that Kroger brand popcorn is on sale for $1 for a 3 pack. If you are making the movie baskets this would be a good price for the popcorn.

In the past you printed a coupon for $3/2 Band aid first aid products, a good place to use this is Target. Pick up 3 of the trial sizes for .97 a piece and use the coupon, still comes to -.07.

Money Saving Tip #13: We all by some kind of bread and sometimes it can get very expensive. One way to cut down on the cost of your bread purchases is to purchase from a bread store or from a place like UGO (United Grocery Outlet). (Thanks R.P. and K.W.)

While looking at my receipt I just noticed that one bag of biscuits that I got was not on sale AND my Reddiwhip didn't get marked down. I had all three kids so I guess I did good not to make anymore mistakes than this but I am so mad at myself because that was about $5 more dollars on my bill! Make sure you pick up the right sizes for the deals to work.

I hope that this will help some of you this week. I am actively looking everyday for the Black Friday rumor ads for Wal-Mart, as soon as I see it you will have it as well. They drag their feet more than the other stores. Just a heads up someone told me that the great Wii deal on the Sam's site was pulled. I haven't looked into it myself but I thought it sounded too good to be true.

Tangled Tuesday, Oct. 28th

For those of you don't know Kmart stores have been running a promotion where you get to double your coupons for $2 and under. There are some rules to follow. One is that internet coupons will not be doubled. Two is that there is a 75 coupon limit, so you can only use 75 coupons at one transaction. This special has been circulating around different stores at different times and now it is finally in our area! Since it is in the local ad it should be good until Saturday, Nov. 1st.
