Everything is so SILENT here lately. I think I must be loosing my edge. Either you guys aren't coming to the blog, OR I am just so good that I am not making any mistakes. I feel like tapping on the computer world and saying, "Is anybody out there?" Well, is anyone out there?

I know summer is a rough time for this. To be honest I am getting disenchanted with the whole couponing business. I told a friend that I didn't even feel like going shopping anymore, she asked if I was sick! Maybe I am, I don't know. I guess that as time goes on I just find more and more things to drag away my attention. It is hard to stay focused on a single thing. I am at the moment trying so hard to loose weight. I am on a good track having already dropped around 30 to 35 pounds. Although others don't see it I still want to loose at LEAST another 25 lbs and I would really like to try for another 40 lbs. Loosing this weight means I have to eat differently. I will be honest most of the coupons out there just don't suit my eating habits any more. I do use some but not as many as I was. Also on the sales front there is nothing that I am trying to hunt down and purchase at the moment so that makes it harder to look up new things.

As a side note, one of the bloggers that I follow mentioned the workout DVD "The Shred" by Jillian Michaels. I tried to comment but the way her site was set up I was unable to. She asked how do you get through this video, basically I started with a low, low, low weight. I started with 2 lbs. in each hand. I know that doesn't seem like much but I was able to do the DVD much better this way and build up my stamina. I didn't realize how much I had built it up until I had stopped doing this DVD and switched to another. I tried "The Shred" yesterday with a 5 lb. weight and I am really feeling it this morning. So my suggestion is to start with the lower weight and build up to the weight they recommend, AFTER you have done the workout for awhile. I will be honest this is a hard workout. I totally agree with the reviews on Amazon were the people said they had worked out for years and this was still hard to do. Another thing is don't give up, you will get there. I also recommend staying on the first and second level for a couple of months, the third level is a killer! I hope this helps.

Crest - $1 printable coupon, I don't think it will help on the Shop 4 Less sale because it is a different KIND of toothpaste but still a good coupon. Also $7 coupon for Crest Whitestrips

Purex - here is a coupon for those of you that haven't already printed it. Go up to send a coupon to a friend, put in someone to send it to and it will let you print one as well. This should work on the purex sale at Shop 4 Less.

Shopping and Finds

I know a picture is worth a thousand words but after moving (20) 2x4's three times, chasing kids through Target (while they said "can I have this, can I have this"), pulling the kids through Kroger, coming out of the store to a black sky and shoving the kids in the van to try to avoid the torrential downpour that was to come, plus trying to chase down my reusable frozen bag that blew out of the vehicle while trying to load it, I didn't FEEL like taking a picture of my items when I got home! :) I can't imagine why, can you?

Anyway here are some of the best items that I found while shopping:
Target:
~ a (2) pk. of Kashi cereal for $3.84 - $1.50/2 ic, the cereal came with a coupon for a free Silk soy milk product, which I peeled off and picked up at Kroger
~Leapfrog Didj game $14.98 - $5 ic (earlier blog post) = $9.98

~16 ct. light bulbs clearanced to $3.48 (I personally LIKE the regular light bulbs because the idea of calling hazmat every time we break one of those new fangled light bulbs just doesn't appeal to me...)

Kroger finds, I am not mentioning everything. I did start with a total of $108.xx and ended with $64.71 as my total oop. Still think that I could have done better without my children there picking up things that I had no intention of purchasing...I obviously didn't have a coupon for some of their longings.

I tried my Protector and Gamble esaver coupons on my Kroger card this weekend and they didn't work! I purchased an Olay body wash for $3, there was suppose to be a $1 on my card and I had a $1 paper coupon, which would have made the product $1, but the $1 on the card never came off...any ideas what I should do? I made sure they scanned my card first.

Okay I did a post before this one that updates you on the coupon links. Make sure to check these links every couple of weeks because they tend to add new items. The All You Magazine is now out for the month, the coupons are mostly repeats of what you already have BUT there are a few new ones in it that make it worth picking up.

Money Saving Tip #10:
Movies. We all love to see a good movie from sappy to happy, we can't seem to let fantasy alone. It gives us time to pretend we are/were someone else. But you know what, movies are EXPENSIVE. From the theater to home you can spend a ton of money on these things so how can me make them cheaper? If you like to physically go to the movies one way to go cheaper is always to go to a matinee or during the day. Also try to find a dollar theater in your area, the movies may be a couple of months behind but you can save lots of money depending on how many people you are taking. Regal Entertainment has a family film festival during the summer. For nine weeks you can take your kids to the movies for free!!!! Check out the link above to see what will be playing and where. Another way is to buy movies used or previously viewed, you can do this at your local Blockbuster, Food City, or movie store. You can also purchase previously viewed movies through Half.com or through Netflix. If you are like my family and there are movies you just want to rent but not buy then you also have several options:

• the library loans movies for free
• Redbox (use link to get one free rental) - this is a red box that is set up around town and you can rent 1 movie for $1 for 1 night
• Netflix (free trial offer) is another option you can get any where from 1 movie to 4 movies at a time for one set price (pricing based on number of movies chosen) sent to your home, shipping back to them is free and very quick. It is my understanding that the trial offer is very easy to cancel.
• Blockbuster, link to the free trial offer. They also do as Netflix, the only advantage is that you can return and exchange a movie at the store, cutting out one day of wait time.

For those of you don't know Kmart stores have been running a promotion where you get to double your coupons for $2 and under. There are some rules to follow. One is that internet coupons will not be doubled. Two is that there is a 75 coupon limit, so you can only use 75 coupons at one transaction. This special has been circulating around different stores at different times and now it is finally in our area! Since it is in the local ad it should be good until Saturday, Nov. 1st.
