Jan. 6, 2008

Here are just a few items from my local paper that I noticed for the week. If your paper has other great items then make sure to share by adding it to the comments. Some of these items might be cheaper in other stores that don't give me a local paper. I cross referenced all the stores I had to make sure that I put the lowest item down under that store. Remember if you don't want to travel to Target or another store out of town, Walmart will price match a lot of these items if you have the sales ad.

Here is the key:
c = coupon, from newspaper
dc = double coupon (Kroger doubles c .50 and under)
ic = internet coupon
BOGO = buy one get one free
oop = out of pocket
ECB = Extra Care Bucks
P&G = Protector and Gamble
GC = Gift Card

Kmart:
Natures Bounty Vitamins BOGO use double coupons for $1 off each one
Slimfast $5.50 - $1.25 c = $4.25
Gatorade .79
Alli $49.99 (bonus package of 180 ct)
Centrum vitamins $6.99 - $3 c = $3.99
Kelloggs protein bars $7 for 2 - $1 c on 2 = $6 for 2

Target:
Suave .89 x2 = $1.78 - .50/2 c = $1.28 or .68 a piece (cheaper at Kroger because they will double the coupon)
Electrasol tabs $3.25 - $2.25 c = $1
Rayovac batteries $9.99 - $1 c = $8.99, plus $5 coupon off of anything in the store (c is on the pkg)
Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull DVD - $9.99
Ironman DVD - $9.99
Healthy Choice steamers $2 - $1 ic = $1

Kroger:
Softsoap $1 - .35c - .35dc = .30
Suave products conditioner/shampoo $1 x2 = $2 - .50c - .50dc = $1 or .50 a piece
Suave lotion $1 - $1 c = free
Milk $3.18 a gallon
Hillshire farms lunch meat $2 - .55 c = $1.45
Powerade x4 $1 a piece - get one free when you buy 3 c = 4/$3 or .75 a piece
Rozoni pasta .89
Suave Body wash $1.66 - .50c - .50dc = .66
Natures bounty vitamins bogo use two $1 c
Healthy Ones lunch meat $2.50 - .75 c = $1.75
Lean Cuisine $1.88 - $1/2 ic = $2.56 or $1.28 a piece
3 Kelloggs cereal for $2.67 a piece - 3 $1 c = $5.01 - $4 (Kroger c automatic) = $1.01 for 3 boxes of cereal (if you don't have the three of the $1 c. use the ones you have as long as you buy 3 boxes of cereal you get the $4 auto c. off)
P&G products buy $25 get $5 off, here is an example of how this can work with coupons:
Bounty Towels $7.49
Cascade $3.49
Crest toothpaste $2.50
Pantene $3.29
Secret deodorant $3.50
Folgers Dec. coffee $6.99
Total: $27.28 - $5 c from Kroger = $22.78
- .25 c - .25 dc (bounty)
- .50 c - .50 dc (cascade)
- .50 c - .50 dc (crest)
- $1 c (pantene)
- .25 c - .25 dc (suave)
- .50 c - .50 dc (coffee)
Total oop = $22.78 - coupons = $17.78
There will be more sales on other P&G items in the store that may make this a better deal, but this is just an example using the sales paper.

Walgreens:
Quaker instant oatmeal $1.99 - $1 c = .99
Motts apple juice $1.79 - $1c = .79
Ajax .33
Reynolds foil .99
Palmolive dishliquid $1.79 - $1 store c (in the sale ad) = .79 - .25 c = .54

CVS:
One Touch ultra smart meter $29.99 - up to $30 c = free, I would wait until they give ECB back for this if you are just giving it to someone. But if you need the meter here is some information, I found this by reading the slickdeals post, under the price for the meter in the CVS ad it says they will not accept discounts on this meter, if you have trouble using your coupon just point to the little sign in the ad that tells you that the paper has coupons for this product and actually encourages you to look for the coupon.
There are a lot of sales on medicine. Look closely in your newspaper for a rebate to get half of the price of some of your medicine, up to $10. Look at the medicines on the rebate form purchase at CVS with your coupons, get ECBs back AND then mail in the rebate for extra money as well. Good luck.
