Just a few hints...

~Look at the ads carefully. Every store starts their sale at a different time. Some even do their sale on Thursday (Thanksgiving) instead of Friday!!!!

~If you only want to go to Wal-Mart remember they will price match the items from other sale ads as long as it is the same item with the same specifications AND the sale time has begun. So don't just check the Wal-Mart ad, CHECK THEM ALL!!!! Look ahead of time at the other papers using the computer. See if Wal-Mart has that item, then if you can't get to the other stores you can easily price match at Wal-Mart.

~Remember there will be a TON of movies on sale during this time. Wal-Mart always carries $2 movies and Target some for $3.99. Some of these movies have coupons! Look at coupons.com on the side of this blog and print out every movie coupon you see. They are good until after Black Friday. And you never know what you might find while you are in the store.

Then the ones that you don't want you mail to a person next on the train. Every two weeks you mail out a new packet and you receive a new packet. When you receive a new packet you pick out the coupons you want then send the rest on to the next person on the train. It is that simple!

I have had a background from The Cutest Blog on the Block forever! It has been so long that I quite honestly forgot how to change the thing! Anyway, I have received a message that states that my background will be over as of July 23rd! I have googled free templates and I will be honest that I am having a hard time finding anything I like, as well as I don't want to download zip files and all that other jazz. Just give me the good old fashion code to plug in...at least I think I figured out how to do that again.

I don't know if you have noticed it lately but I have so I thought I would share it here so I could tell everyone at once. A lot of the people I know use yahoo, hotmail, and other sources for email. Some of these accounts have been hacked. If you get an email that contains nothing but a link, even from someone you know DON'T CLICK ON IT! You need to check with that person and make sure they sent it to you. I don't know all the particulars, so I can't say this will happen or that will happen. But I think it is better to be safe than sorry.

One Line Society

A few days ago I was just playing on the computer and I visited a blog where a woman asked should she stay or should she go. She said she liked blogging and sharing deals with people but she didn't "love it". She wanted to know if they wanted her to stay around or to quit. Of course they told her to stay, they loved what she is offering and giving to them. Well I became curious. I went back and looked at some of her earlier posts to see if anyone had posted a comment to her blog and for post after post there was nothing to see. The post where she asked if she should stay, had seven comments. The post after that twelve, and so on. But the ones prior nothing, nada, zilch.

I will be honest that I have been planning it out in my head for sometime how I would share my weight loss story. How I would tell you the trials and the problems that I had along the way. My hopes of course, was to inspire everyone in their own journey that losing weight is entirely possible if you want it. But just after I printed the last post, I changed my mind. Who is going to read it? Do you have time to read that much?

I am starting to feel that blogs are a part of the past. With texting, Facebook, and Twitter where we can live our lives in one line sentences who has the time or the energy to read five paragraphs, right?

(No offense to all the great people who have asked me to join Facebook. Love ya, guys....but like I have said in the past I don't have time, even with the one line option!)

Some of you still might like to know what I did to lose my weight so for all you people that stuck it out to the end of this post, here is a treat. Here is a one line break down of my weight loss after the Tae-Bo:

~Switched my workouts out. Started using Biggest Loser DVDs and running on treadmill
~Took sugar out of my diet, lost 5 lbs
~Took HFCS out of my diet, lost 5 lbs
~Got the flu, (not recommended), lost 5 lbs
~Started eating from the Biggest Loser Family cookbook
~Jan. 2010 began counting calories on Sparkpeople (free service), from Jan. to July lost 30 lbs

Total lost from Dec. 2007 until now 72 lbs! You can do it. Find someone that will encourage you and don't give up.

Weight Loss Journey Day One

I am sure that many of you have noticed a decrease in my posts of late. I have definitely noticed a decrease in viewers. :) I can't say that I blame you for not stopping by. Who has time to stop by when there is clearly nothing to see.

I tend to be an obsessive person, and unfortunately I can only have one obsession at a time. Call it a character flaw. *shrug* For awhile all I did was surveys. I made some money but not much. Then I got into doing coupons. I spent hours a day just looking up deals for myself mostly. I started sharing those deals with some friends by email. I had a friend constantly asking me what happened to this sale or where was that sale and I found that I would never have the right email to answer her question, and that is where the blogging started. When I began I didn't even know what a blog was!

At first the blog was very simplistic and I tried to just give the links to what I found. I didn't know one thing about adding a hyperlink and making the links look better but thanks to a fellow saver, Jennifer, she told me how to fix that. Then there was designing the background, which I have changed several times before I decided on what to do.

During all this, I decided that I need to get healthy, ergo my new obsession. As a middle schooler I had put on weight. When I hit high school I asked my grandmother to help me to lose, and she did. I did the exercise, she cooked and planned the meals. I lost 40 pounds over the summer just listening to her advice. I was able to keep the weight off for about 5 years until I went to college (got away from my grandmother's cooking) and got married.

When I got married and had children, I packed the pounds right back on. This time I went even higher than I had been before. When you get so far up you can't see the way back down sometimes. I wanted to exercise, but I convinced myself that I had no time to do so. It was impossible, I thought. My husband told me I should run, we had a treadmill going to waste in the basement, but I told him I couldn't possibly do that, my body wasn't made for it.

Then one day my back started hurting. I have Herrington Rods from a scoliosis surgery that I incurred at age eleven and I was sure that they were falling out. The Internet can be a terrible thing sometimes. I went to the doctor and he couldn't do anything. He told me that he could take the rods out (no MRI's because they are made of steel) and he gave me only a 65% chance that the pain would go away. I requested Physical Therapy. I thought why not, it beats surgery.

While the orthopedic had speculated that my problem might be due to nerves, she said perhaps it was a muscle issue. She suggested that exercise would help the problem. That Christmas I asked for Billy Blanks Tae-Bo series from my husband and he produced. It was the best gift I could have been given. That Christmas Day 2007 I started working out. The next year I lost 20 pounds. I did nothing but the Tae-Bo videos. No gym, no running, no dieting, just working out with my videos, at least 5 days a week (believe I followed the calendar included in with the set).

After about 18 months I was completely stuck. I had to change something or I feared I would never lose anymore.

Join me in the next post to learn what I changed... Just to let you know to date I have lost 72 pounds, and I am within 3 pounds of being my ideal weight (according to a doctor's chart)! Sorry to leave you hanging, but I would reallylike to do these posts justice. I hope that in my telling you can see hope for yourself in your own journey.

Currently my nine year old is reading "Rainbow Fairy" books. She is also reading "Katie Kazoo".

My son is more into the Percy Jackson Olympian series, although I must admit that we were very disappointed with the movie.

I myself, have been reading books by Julie Garwood and Lynn Kurland.
